Requirements

All students establish residency as a BAS student by attending and passing at least one class (5 credits) at BAS.

 

Students must earn passing grades and maintain at least 80% attendance to receive credit in high school diploma courses.

 

Comprehensive high schools in Kern High School District (BHS, South, etc.) require 220 credits for graduation. BAS only requires 200 credits because we do not require Physical Education; therefore up to 20 credits of Physical Education are automatically deducted from all student's transcripts.

 

Students who have been employed in the workforce, served in the military, or completed credits at an accredited college may be eligible to earn high school credit. Eligibility will be determined by proof of meeting one or more criteria. Please read the information sheet here (Work Experience) for details.
