Get Elective Credit through Work Experience, College Credit and/or Military Service
Bakersfield Adult School — Credit from Work Experience, College Coursework, or Military Service
Students working toward a high school diploma at Bakersfield Adult School (BAS) may be eligible to earn elective credits from work experience, college credit, and/or military service.
The student must do the following before submitting work experience:
✅ Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for work experience credit, you must:
- Be enrolled in BAS high school diploma program
- Have earned at least 100+ credits in non-elective classes
- Complete at least 5+ credits at BAS during the current quarter
Students may verify their work experience in ONE of the following ways:
📄 Acceptable Proof of Work Experience
Upload one of the following official documents in PDF format:
- W2 forms or tax returns (after high school senior year employment)
- Social Security Statement (Request free statement) or online: www.ssa.gov, download PDF file statement
- If you are locked out of your account, you can go to the Social Security Office for your Earnings Report/Social Security Statement, which is given to you for FREE. You only need to submit the free copy. Please make sure it has a stamp or signature from the Social Security Office.
- Official college transcripts

⚠️ DO NOT BUY AN EMPLOYMENT REPORT FROM THEM! THIS IS NOT THE REPORT WE NEED.
Each year of full or part-time work is analyzed on its own merits and may or may not qualify for credit. A maximum of forty credits are allowed from work exp., college credits, and/or military service combined.
