Teacher Assistant: Paraprofessional Preparation

This course is designed to assist high school graduate students to become effective paraprofessionals. The course will explore the proper techniques to assure a productive relationship between the teacher aide, the teacher, and the student in the classes taught by the teacher and assisted by the aide. This class prepares students to take the Paraprofessional Exam as a culminating activity. Students will have theory and classroom experience to taking the professional exam.

Recycling Lives - Job Readiness Training

This course will provide adult learners with the principles of the recycling process, including entrepreneurship and business fundamentals. In the business Management pathway, students will learn goal set- ting, resource allocation, organizational structure and management techniques. Students will prepare to certified in forklift driving, standing forklift, walk-behind forklift, and safety certificate.

AB 130: Independent Study (Kern Learn Extension) Information

Independent Study (Kern Learn Extension). The parents and/or guardians of all Kern High School District students have the option to enroll their student in in-person instruction or independent study during the 2021–22 school year. For students whose health would be put at risk by in-person instruction (as determined by the parent/guardian), the Kern Learn Extension program is the independent study option for the 2021-2022 school year.

KHSD Celebrates "Adult Education Week"

This week, the Kern High School District celebrates the Bakersfield Adult School. The KHSD Board of Trustees proclaimed April 19 - April 23 as Adult Education Week in the District as we salute the administration, teachers, and students of the Bakersfield Adult School and honor their efforts and accomplishments.
