The Adult School provides testing certification in math, reading, and writing. These proficiency tests are given the third Tuesday of each month, (except July and December).
Effective July 1, 2019, the following policies, procedures, and costs will be in effect for all proficiency tests administered at Bakersfield Adult School.
Time: 5:00 p.m. Test candidates should report no later than this time to complete forms, pay fees, and have identity verified. The tests are timed and will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. It will take approximately three hours to complete the battery of three tests.
Cost: $10.00 (for all tests)

Ink pen and #2 pencil
All examinees must have picture identification. Acceptable picture identification includes a California driver's license or I.D. card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, passport, military I.D. card, or government I.D. card. The examinees name, birth date, signature, and photograph must appear on the above or on some combination of the above. A temporary driver's license, social security card, or birth certificate is not sufficient to prove identification.
