The Kern High School District and Bakersfield Adult School have opening up a job resource for the community at 1501 Panama Lane. The job spot is a multiagency educational and employment resource for both educational support and employment information in Kern County.
The new facility provides information on local job openings as well as education information from Bakersfield College. Once students earn a GED they attend the orientation at America's Job Center of California, and register in Cal Jobs.
Adults wanting to get an education now have another opportunity in south Bakersfield. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning to commemorate the opening of the Job Spot at the corner or Panama Lane and H Street.
The Job Spot was built with the help of a $500,000 grant.
