Graduation Commencement

GRADUATION CEREMONY DATE: Friday, May 31, 2024 @ 7 p.m.

Students must report to the BHS Cafeteria by 6:30 p.m.

PLACE: Bakersfield High School -Harvey Hall – 1241 G Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301

REHEARSAL: MANDATORY—Tuesday May 28, 2024 @ 7 p.m.

( Approx. 1 hour long) Report to BHS Cafeteria

If you do not attend the practice, you cannot participate in the graduation ceremony—NO exceptions.

GRADUATION CEREMONY LIST: Your name MUST be on the graduation ceremony list if you plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. Email Registrar: [email protected]

CAP AND GOWN: All students participating in the commencement ceremony must wear a royal blue cap, gown, and tassel. The cost for these items is $17.14 + tax.

You can purchase from Jostens using the Order Form sent to you via email. Call or go in person to Jostens on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 3 and 6 p.m. If someone goes to Jostens on your behalf, make sure all necessary information is included on the order form, such as your height, weight, required graduation attire, and any other items you wish to purchase.

TICKETS: For Family/Friends: Guest tickets will be available during mandatory practice. Children 2 and under do not require a ticket but must sit on an adult’s lap and be supervised by a non-graduate adult at all times.

DIPLOMAS: For all students who have not received their diplomas, they will be available after the ceremony in the BHS Cafeteria.

SCHOLARSHIP: If you are interested in applying for a scholarship for higher education, please visit the Counseling Office for information. Deadlines do apply.

NOTE: BALLOONS, FLOWERS & NOISEMAKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE AUDITORIUM
