Requirements

Residency Requirement

All graduates must establish residence by declaring the Adult School to be their home school and by attending and completing at least one class as an Adult School student.

Attendance Requirements

Students must earn passing grades and maintain at least 80% attendance to receive credit in high school diploma courses.

Graduation Requirements

Comprehensive high schools in Kern High School District (BHS, South, etc.) require 220 credits for graduation. BAS only requires 200 credits because we do not require Physical Education; therefore, up to 20 credits of Physical Education are automatically deducted from all students transcripts

Students who have earned at least 5 credits at Bakersfield Adult School and have been employed in the work force can apply for work experience credit. Please bring tax returns, W2s or social security statements to our Registrar to apply for work experience credit. (other requirements apply)
